Behind an impressive start by Steve Watkins, Ottawa beat Roswell, 5-2. The winning pitcher was Watkins, now 8-14. He tossed 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 7. At 60-56, the Wendigo claim 4th place in the Steam League Top Left.
The Wendigo beat the Greys with some clutch hitting. The single by Ed Cooper in the bottom of the seventh is a good example. With two down, Cooper gave his team the lead, 3-2, when he came through with the big hit.
"I thought we played a nice game," Cooper told the Ottawa Observer. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
