A blow for Ismael Rosales today -- team doctors confirmed he will miss 4 months with bone chips in his elbow. Rosales suffered the injury throwing a pitch. Although officials from the Gary SouthShore RailCats are confident he'll make a full recovery, doubts will persist about Rosales's ability to return fully fit with an injury of this nature.
This season Rosales has earned 0 saves, tossed 12.1 innings, made 9 relief appearances, fanned 11 hitters and posted an ERA of 0.73. Teams are hitting .163 against him.

Rubio Grades Out as May's Top Rookie

Last month Melvin Rubio bullied and bewildered the American Association hitters and chalked up 4 victories. In addition Virginia Beach hurler also copped the league's Rookie of the Month honors.
In May the 29-year-old Rubio recorded a 4-0 won-lost mark with a 2.18 ERA and 20 strikeouts in 33 innings.
This year Rubio has worked 44 innings with 33 strikeouts en route to a 5-0 record and a 2.25 ERA.
