Blues Fall Short, 3-2, at Parramatta

The Parramatta Giants got a good effort from starter Ieni Nagas in defeating the Carlton Blues at Paramatta Fields. The final score was 3-2. Earning his 5th save of the year was David Hockenhull. Parramatta, with the win, sits at 17-35.
The Giants got a big at-bat from catcher Willie Bendall. For the game, Bendall was 1 for 2 with a double and a walk. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 9th double of the season gave Parramatta a 2-1 lead.
"Ieni made his pitches," said Parramatta manager Derek Stringer.
