The Canterbury Bulldogs faced a tough opponent in Cronulla pitcher Sid Lovibond, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Endeavour Field by a final score of 3-2. Lovibond went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. The win belongs to Vinnie Burge in relief. His record improves to 5-3. Eric Jolly took the loss for Cronulla. Canterbury is now 49-61.

Canterbury needed the clutch hitting of Matt Richards to notch the win. The center fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Bulldogs on top, 3-2. For the game, Richards had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"I'm glad we can make our fans happy with a win," Richards told the Canterbury News.
