The Cronulla Sharks got a sterling performance from pitcher Alby Eames, but the Canterbury Bulldogs still prevailed, 3-2. Eames threw 6.0 innings allowing 1 runs. Canterbury goes to 12-13.

The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Canterbury trailing 2-1, Brad Junee hit a fastball from Coltyn Beardsley to left-center for a 2-run double. Just like that, the Bulldogs had a walk-off win.

"This was a tough loss," said Cronulla manager Random Task. "It'll stick in my craw for a while."
