Carlton Wins at Home to Take 4-3 Lead in GF
The Carlton Blues got a strong performance from pitcher Michael Ferguson, who stymied the visiting North Sydney Bears en route to a win, 5-1, in Game 7 of the Grand Final Series today. The Bears could never get a bead on the right-handed Ferguson, who threw 6.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The Blues now hold a 4-3 in the best-of-9 series.

In the bottom of the fourth, Carlton shortstop Hau Kapena had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 2nd and one out, Kapena stroked a 2-run double to left. It made the score 2-0, Carlton. For the game, he went 1 for 4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI.

"I just tried to make good contact," said Kapena.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Princes Park in Melbourne.
