RES Reliever of the Year Award Winner Named

They say you can't teach an old dog new tricks, but in the case of Kaihautu Alohi of the Dee Why Kangaroos, you don't have to - his old tricks worked just fine in 1996.

The 34-year-old veteran turned in a sparkling performance and has won the Reserve Grade Reliever of the Year Award.

He captured the award with 1 save in 23 relief appearances, 46 strikeouts and 11 walks in 49 innings. He put up a record of 4-0 to go with his 2.02 ERA.

He received 12 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Eric Digg of the Rockdale Crushers finished second in voting, while Ty Wrixon of the Lidcombe Swans finished third.
