King of the Hill Announced by Youth League Friday, September 17th , 2021 This past season was very special for Gavin Douglass of the Ryde Hawks. He picked up 13 wins against only no losses and was chosen the winner of the 2021 Youth League Outstanding Pitcher Award. The 22-year-old Hawks ace fashioned a fine 2.46 ERA in 19 starts. He threw 128 innings, gave up 110 hits, 29 walks and held opponents to a .232 average. Douglass fanned 91 batters this season. He received 11 first place votes out of a possible 12. Bob Minchin of the Paddington Workers finished second in voting with 1 first place vote, while Abe Donoghue of the Paddington Workers finished third.
