Heidke Spins 1-0 Shutout
Thursday, April 14th , 2022
"Good pitching beats good hitting" is an old baseball adage.
Well, good pitching also beats bad hitting.
Kaleb Heidke of the Carlton Blues proved the point at Essendon Recreation Reserve today, holding the Essendon Knights to 3 hits in a complete game shutout victory.
"Heidke made us look real bad today," Knights manager Phorgotten Son said in a postgame interview. "He was outstanding. He was down in the zone with all his pitches. Everything was sinking."
Heidke had 3 strikeouts and gave up no walks as the Blues took the 1-0 win.
