Fraser Bangs Out 5 Base Hits Tuesday, April 19th , 2022 Melbourne left fielder Colin Fraser went down swinging at Canberra Stadium today, knocking out 5 hits even as his Demons fell, 7-6. "It was like I was hitting Little League pitching," Fraser said after his 5-for-5 performance against the Canberra Raiders. "No offense meant to Canberra, but it was like I was back in little league again -- I could see the ball that well." After the game, his manager elaborated on the left fielder's improvements, saying Fraser spent the offseason trying to shorten his swing and stay inside the ball. "That's what I'm trying to do," Fraser agreed. "Be quick to the ball and let it travel a little farther so I get a better look at it." Colin Fraser singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Rylan Eyres-Brown in the 5th, singled in the 8th and hit a three-run triple in the 9th.
