Panthers Come up Short of Playoffs Saturday, September 10th , 2022 Members of the Penrith Panthers sat in stunned silence in their clubhouse, adjusting to the knowledge that they had lost their chance for a playoff berth this year. "We really thought we had the team to get into the playoffs," said starting pitcher Dayle Lowen. The Panthers have missed the playoffs 9 times in their 24 years as a Australian Baseball League franchise. This playoff miss is the club's 4th in a row, with their last postseason appearance coming in 2018. In the last 10 seasons, the Panthers have missed the playoffs 4 times. Penrith last won the Grand Final Series in 2018. |
