Morales Bashes 3 HR for Glendale HS Sunday, April 23rd , 2045 Fans seated in the bleacher section at Ballpark of Staten Island HS were taking cover all day long as Roberto Morales zeroed in on them, rattling three long blasts off the seats in a display of Herculean power. The big game from the Glendale HS second baseman helped the Goths take the victory, 8-2, over the Staten Island HS Explorers. "I told myself not to press on the last one," he told reporters in the postgame press conference. "I knew I couldn't force it -- it has to be a nice easy swing." For the game, he collected 4 hits in 5 at-bats, drove in 4 and scored 4 runs. Roberto Morales hit a solo-shot off Alejandro RodrÃguez in the 1st, singled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Alfredo Herrera in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Luis Mendoza in the 7th and struck out in the 9th. To date Morales has chalked up a .493 average with 13 home runs, driven in 38 runs and scored 30 times. |
