Dodgers Edge Phillies, 6-5
|
Andrew McCutchen did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Philadelphia Phillies from losing, 6-5, to the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium. McCutchen went 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The win elevated the Dodgers to 24-22.
In the bottom of the eighth, Los Angeles shortstop Corey Seager gave his team the lead. With no one out and the bases loaded, Seags hit his 7th home run of the year. Philadelphia pitcher Mychal Givens surrendered it. With that, the Dodgers jumped in front, 6-5.
"I just tried to put the barrel on it," said Seager.
