Division Remains Up for Grabs, but Los Angeles in Postseason

The fate of the American League West Division remains officially undecided, but one thing is for sure - the Los Angeles Angels are heading to the playoffs.
With a 96-61 mark, Los Angeles officially secured a place in this year's postseason. The club will now wait to see where they end up seeded in the postseason - as a division or wild card winner.

Twins Come up Short of Playoffs

A late-season playoff push is not in the cards for the Minnesota Twins. The club today was mathematically knocked out of playoff contention.
"There are a lot of long faces around right now," said Twins manager Aaron Gleeman. "You know in your head that every year, most teams in baseball have to go through this, but it still hurts when you realize you've lost your shot at a title."
Before this season, the Twins last missed the playoffs in 2018. In the 149 years they have been a Major League Baseball franchise, they have missed the playoffs 141 times. In the last 10 years, they have missed the playoffs 8 times. Minnesota has won the World Series 3 times in their history.

Cleveland Wins American League Central Division Crown
Wednesday, September 23rd, 2020
The Cleveland Indians have won their division, but have a much larger goal in mind.
"No one will look back on this season and remember the American League Central Division champions. People will remember the World Series champions," said manager Zack Meisel. "That's what this is all about, but of course we needed this first to get there."
The club's division win is the 14th for the franchise and they will be seeking their 3rd World Series.
