Nationals Deal Phillies 7-3 Loss
|
Washington pitcher Stephen Strasburg did his part in helping his team beat the Philadelphia Phillies, 7-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Washington reliever James Bourque picked up the win, upping his record to 8-5. Yonny Chirinos shouldered the loss. Washington has 4 straight wins, Philadelphia 5 straight losses.
Washington used the clutch hitting of Trea Turner to capture the win. The shortstop drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Nationals ahead, 4-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Turner.
