Brinson Helps Marlins Beat Nationals, 6-4
|
The 6-4 Miami win over Washington was due largely to Lewis Brinson. The Marlins right fielder went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Sixto Sanchez, who threw 90 pitches over 5 innings. The right-hander was charged with 4 runs on 7 hits. The Marlins raised their record to 60-94.
Brinson contributed in the top of the third. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a single. It was one at-bat among others that helped Miami get the win.
"I'm not out here to win a beauty contest," said Brinson. "Obviously."
