Tigers Fall to Odorizzi and Twins, 4-1
|
Jake Odorizzi pitched a gem to lead Minnesota to victory over the Detroit Tigers, 4-1. Taylor Rogers was credited with the save, his 32nd in 38 tries. The victory gives Minnesota a record of 84-70.
Odorizzi was effective for Minnesota, seldom allowing the Tigers to square up a pitch. The right-hander tossed 98 pitches over 8 innings. He limited Detroit to just 1 run on 3 hits.
In postgame comments to the Minnesota Bulletin, Odorizzi said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
