Rendon Helps Los Angeles Cruise to 12-3 Win
|
The Los Angeles Angels powered past the Oakland Athletics, 12-3, at Oakland Coliseum. Anthony Rendon was 4 for 5 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4, to lead the charge. Los Angeles reliever Zack Kelly picked up the win to move to 2-0. A.J. Puk suffered the loss. The Athletics have now dropped 5 straight.
In the top of the eighth, the Angels grabbed the lead when Rendon hit his 37th home run of the season. The 3-run home run off A.J. Puk made it 6-3, Los Angeles.
"Been a rough stretch for us," said Oakland manager Melissa Lockard.
