Boston's Verdugo AL's Best Monday, September 7th, 2020 So far in his young career, Alex Verdugo has kept a low profile, but after his performance at the plate last week, he attracted the notice of the rest of the American League in a big way as he was named the Player of the Week today for his efforts. The 24-year-old Boston Red Sox right fielder hit at a torrid .500 clip as he collected 12 hits in 24 at-bats, no home runs, 5 RBIs and 4 runs scored. Verdugo currently has a .362 batting average with 157 hits, 9 homers, 71 RBIs, 85 runs scored and a .424 OBP. |
