Cubs Come up Short of Playoffs Sunday, September 20th, 2020 The battle by the Chicago Cubs to claim a playoff position is now over. Despite the team's best efforts, they were mathematically eliminated from the postseason today. Chicago last appeared in the postseason in 2018. This is their 2nd consecutive year missing the playoffs, and in total they have not advanced past the regular season 135 times in their 149-year history. In the last 10 seasons, the Cubs have missed the playoffs 7 times. Chicago has won the World Series 3 times in their history. |
