The manager of the Los Angeles (DSL) Dodgers Robinson said he thinks Eddys Leonard is only going to get better as he gets older.

He may only be 19, but it will be hard to top the second baseman's 2020 campaign, as he has been named the winner of the Dominican Rookie League Most Valuable Player Award.

His winning campaign featured a .333 batting average and a .468 on-base percentage this year. In 67 games he piled up 81 hits, 29 doubles, 11 triples, 5 home runs, 54 RBIs and 47 runs scored.

He received 22 first place votes out of a possible 46. Alberis Ferrer of the Milwaukee (DSL) Brewers finished second in voting with 12 first place votes, while Orelvis Martinez of the Toronto (DSL) Blue Jays finished third with 5 first place votes.

During the 2020 campaign, Gonzalez excelled with a 4-0 won-lost mark in 6 starts. In 46 innings he yielded 23 hits and 8 walks, while striking out 64 and compiling an impressive 1.17 ERA.
