More Bad Juju as Legends Drop 6th Straight
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Asheville Tourists and Lexington Legends.
Asheville got a strong outing from Abel Jacoby as the Tourists defeated the Lexington Legends, 4-2, at McCormick Field. Juan Pedraza, now 1-1, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. Steve Maskell earned the save for Asheville, his 5th of the year.
Chad Palmer drove in one run for Asheville. The 23-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Kurt Kolb. It was his 10th RBI of the season.
"The key at this level is throwing strike one," said Jacoby. "Successful pitchers do it."
The 'W' lifts Asheville's record to 35-57.
