Hickory picked up a win at L.P. Frans Stadium, toppling the Asheville Tourists, 6-0. Pitcher Mike Matthews was one of the reasons the Crawdads triumphed. Hickory is now 55-65. Asheville is 45-75.

Chris Baker was 2-4 with 2 doubles for Hickory. The 22-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the second. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Lisuarte Carril. It was his 44th RBI of the season.

"Mike was throwing free and easy," said Hickory manager Ryan Edell.
