Mets Squelch Astros Offense in Shutout Win
New York (N) Mets starter Mario Cruz pitched his team past the Houston Astros, 3-0. Kinnosuke Arai, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 17th save. The Mets raised their record to 29-21.

Making an impact for the home team was Ottavio Attene. In the bottom of the sixth, the three-time All-Star had a run-scoring walk. That made the score 2-0, Mets.

"For the most part, I stayed out of the middle of the plate," Cruz said.
