Phillies Prevail, 8-6, Over Jacksonville
|
Philadelphia and Jacksonville got after it at Bombers Park.
The Philadelphia Phillies powered past the Jacksonville Bombers, 8-6, at Bombers Park. Jake Allen went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once, to lead the charge. Philadelphia is now 26-28, Jacksonville 21-33.
Philadelphia used the bat of Raúl Jaramillo to get the win. The first baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Phillies ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
Phillies manager Donald Spamer wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."
