Astros Pull Even With 4-2 Victory
The Houston Astros stymied the Kansas City Royals, 4-2, at Kauffman Stadium. Cam Crouch had a good day at the plate. He was 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk for Houston. Bob Bush earned the win to go to 6-3. He allowed 2 runs on 5 hits, with 4 walks and 2 strikeouts in 5 innings of work. The third-place Astros are 30-30.

Houston used a well-timed hit by José Mercado to capture the win. The shortstop socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Astros ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Mercado said after the game.
