The performance of Kade Piper proved critical in helping Tampa Bay beat Cincinnati, 11-4. The Rays third baseman was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 doubles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The Rays saw their record improve to 22-40.

Piper came through for Tampa Bay with one out in the bottom of the fourth. With Tampa Bay trailing 2-0, Piper hit a 3-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Rays up, 3-2.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Piper told the Tampa Bay Herald.
