Soto, Rangers Too Much for Blue Jays
Gilberto Soto was instrumental in his team's 6-5 triumph over the Toronto Blue Jays. The center fielder was 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for the Texas Rangers. Steve Duffy got credit for the win, improving to 5-6. He allowed 2 runs on 6 hits in 8 innings. The Rangers go to 29-38, putting them last in the American League Western Division.

Texas used a well-timed hit by Dumadi Mainaky to capture the win. The first baseman socked a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Rangers ahead, 3-2. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
