Cardinals Win 3-2 Walk-Off
|
St. Louis Cardinals starter Ron Stonge turned in an exceptional performance against the Baltimore Orioles at Busch Stadium, resulting in a St. Louis win, 3-2. The winner in relief was José Manuel. He is now 7-4. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. St. Louis is now 74-43, 16 games up in the National League Central Division.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when St. Louis first baseman Kevin Hempsall, facing Joe Davis, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Cardinals the 3-2 win.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said St. Louis manager .
