Chicago (A) Bats Go Silent in 3-0 Loss
|
The Kansas City Royals picked up a win at Kauffman Stadium, courtesy of Héctor Ayala. The left-hander helped his team stop the Chicago (A) White Sox, 3-0. In 8 innings, Ayala surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. Andy McClendon sewed up the save, his 38th.
Joseph Tornatore hit a bases-clearing triple off Dave Bannatyne in the bottom of the seventh, which put the Royals in front, 3-0. Tornatore had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 4.
"Héctor is tough when he's hitting his spots," said Kansas City manager Tyler Masters.
