Bombers Top Giants, 6-1
|
The Jacksonville Bombers picked up a win at Bombers Park, knocking off the San Francisco Giants, 6-1. Starting pitcher Doug Kennedy was a big reason why. The winning pitcher was Kennedy, now 6-11. He tossed 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 10. The Bombers now have a record of 51-96.
In the bottom of the second inning, the Bombers grabbed the lead when Misao Suitani rapped a two-out home run. Jacksonville was trailing 1-0, when Suitani hit a 2-run home run off Doug Maze to put his team in front, 2-1.
"I just made my pitches," said Kennedy, "and the ball kept missing the bat."
