Reds Suffer 4-2 Setback
|
The Cincinnati Reds and Chicago (N) Cubs were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
The Cubs grabbed a win, 4-2, at Wrigley Field, overcoming a fine effort from Cincinnati pitcher Duane O'Dell. O'Dell went 7 innings and allowed 1 run. Chicago (N) reliever Bob Head picked up the win, upping his record to 12-5. Steve Vidito absorbed the loss.
Chicago (N) took a 4-2 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning, when Tim Walsh hit a clutch 3-run home run to bring Cubs fans to their feet.
"Good win for us," said Walsh. "We'll lace up our cleats and go after the next one."
Chicago (N) is 78-73 and Cincinnati, with the loss, 57-94.
