Minnesota pitcher Bud Miller did his part in helping his team beat the Toronto Blue Jays, 5-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The win was credited to Jerry Cook in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Jim Galloway took the loss. Giancarlo Scarabelli earned save number 4 this season.

Steve Sanders had a critical at-bat with two out in the bottom of the seventh for Minnesota. He came through with a 2-run single to put Minnesota in front, 4-1.

"I just trusted my stuff," said Miller.
