Griffith Brings A-Game, Pirates Beat Dodgers
|
In a low-scoring contest, Pittsburgh pitcher Jim Griffith was marvelous in his team's 2-0 win. Picking up the save was Damian Wiley, his 8th. Early on, the Pirates, at 10-3, have excelled.
Griffith, a native of Fern Creek, Kentucky, was dealing all game. He kept Los Angeles (N) hitters off-balance, while giving the Pirates 8 quality innings. Griffith threw 91 pitches, allowing 3 hits and striking out 4.
"It was a good effort all around," said Griffith.
