River Bandits Sweep Round 2 Saturday, October 5th , 2041 It was a glorious moment for River Bandits fans today as Quad Cities claimed the 2041 Round 2 title with a 3-1 victory at Modern Woodmen Park. Jubilant Quad Cities players swamped each other on the diamond after completing a dominant sweep of the West Michigan Whitecaps, as chants of "Thank you, River Bandits" reverberated all around the ballpark. In the losing dugout, sadness reigned. Whitecaps skipper told reporters it was "hard to describe" the feeling of losing in the Round 2. "Your heart is heavy, you are hurting -- it's a very difficult time," he said. "And to be swept is embarrassing. You just want to forget it ever happened." For the Quad Cities River Bandits, it was a season to remember. They finished the regular season with a record of 103-37, good enough for first place in the West Division.
