In a superb outing at Veterans Memorial Stadium, the Cubs pitcher blanked the Cedar Rapids Kernels 4-0. "I just had a feeling it was going to be my day," Calderón said in the clubhouse afterward. "My control was awesome. I could throw my curveball even when I was behind in the count." The South Bend starter held Cedar Rapids scoreless, giving up 4 hits while registering 3 strikeouts and issuing no walks.
