Homer #400 for St. Louis's Rodríguez
Sunday, May 18th , 2042
Back-back-back-gone! Jesús Rodríguez hit his 400th home run tonight against the Los Angeles (N) Dodgers.
Rodríguez, of the St. Louis Cardinals, smiled as he rounded all the bases and got mobbed by his teammates at home plate.
The game did stop momentarily as the Cardinals celebrated this accomplishment.
"I was swinging for the fences and the pitch looked like a giant grape fruit," Rodríguez said. "This is another check off my bucket list. I'll now be setting my sights the next milestone."
The Cardinals first baseman went 1 for 4 with 1 home run and 1 RBI as the St. Louis Cardinals won 5-1 over the Los Angeles (N) Dodgers.
Rodríguez has played in 1705 games with a .260 lifetime batting average. Among his 1677 hits are 365 doubles, 9 triples and 400 home runs. He has also scored 890 runs and driven in 1167 runs.
