Pittsburgh Moves on to League Champioship Series Wednesday, October 23rd, 2024 The championship dreams are still alive for the Pittsburgh Pirates, while it's back to the drawing board for the Chicago (N) Cubs. By a score of 7-5, Pittsburgh won the decisive game at Wrigley Field today. The Pirates took the series 3-1. Thomas Szapucki of the Pirates was named the Division Series MVP. "All our guys are really focused winning the World Series," Szapucki said. "I'm not too concerned about personal awards." The Pittsburgh Pirates don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Jacksonville Bombers - Arizona Diamondbacks series. Jacksonville leads the series 2 games to 1.
