Tigers Dominate, Sweep League Championship Series
Tuesday, October 22nd , 2041
Many baseball pundits expected a close series in the American League League Championship Series. It turned out quite a bit different.
The Detroit Tigers swept aside the Baltimore Orioles to advance to the World Series, winning the final game by a 6-0 score at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.
The series MVP was second baseman Jorge Figueroa, who hit .389 with a .389 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 3 RBI and scored 4 runs.
"We expected this series to go right down to the wire, so to sweep is a bit of a surprise," he said. "But we'll take it."
The Detroit Tigers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Atlanta Braves - St. Louis Cardinals series. Atlanta leads the series 2 games to 1. The World Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes.
