Joe Mayes, the Colorado Rockies 25-year-old left fielder, put himself in the spotlight last week making him the clear-cut choice for National League Player of the Week honors. He ripped 11 hits in 26 at-bats, compiling a .423 average with 4 home runs and 10 RBIs. For the season Mayes is hitting .324, batted in 27 runs with 13 home runs and 23 runs scored. |
