Cruz and Paddon Fight, Get Suspended Wednesday, August 27th, 2025 Yesterday at Comerica Tigers Park António Cruz and Trent Paddon got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Detroit Tigers and New York (A) Yankees. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Cruz will have to sit out 5 while Paddon would be given a 6-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. This year Cruz is batting .304 with 119 hits and 7 home runs. He has scored 54 times and has batted in 43 runs. This year in 12 starts, Paddon has recorded 6 wins and absorbed 5 losses. He has pitched 91.2 innings, allowed 84 hits, struck out 59 and has a 4.03 ERA. |
