Blue Jays End Martínez's Streak Tuesday, July 23rd , 2041 The 21-game hitting streak of Sergio Martínez has come to an end. The Ottawa Lynx right fielder went 0-for-5 today in his team's 5-1 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays at Rogers Centre. "It's not just Sergio who came up short today," Lynx manager Terry Kift said in his postgame press conference. "This was a team loss." So far on the season Martínez is hitting .344 with 3 home runs, 24 RBIs and 51 runs scored. He has 125 hits and played in 90 games. |
