Abbott Dominates Rockies in 1-0 Shutout
Friday, April 25th , 2042
Jeff Abbott kept the opposition off the scoreboard and the New York (N) Mets were all smiles after winning 1-0 against the Colorado Rockies at Citi Field today. The left-handed Abbott gave up no runs in his start, permitted 4 hits and had 7 strikeouts.
"If there was a stat for 'team shutout,' this would be it," Abbott said later. "My catcher called a great game, guys delivered at the plate and when I messed something up the guys behind me were where they needed to be."
Thus far this season, Abbott has worked 40.1 innings with 27 strikeouts en route to a 3-0 record and a 0.45 ERA.
