Emperors Best Rattlers in Pitching Duel
|
The Vinson Emperors picked up a win at Yankee Stadium, taking down the Austin Rattlers, 2-1. Starting pitcher Bhagwandas Vittal was a big reason why. Vinson is now 82-48, 5½ games up in the True Neutral Baseball League Gan Bi Division.
The Emperors got a big at-bat from second baseman Érik Roux. For the game, Roux went 1 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 13th home run of the season gave Vinson a 2-0 lead.
"That's baseball," said Austin manager Regan Sink. "You're not always going to be hitting on all cylinders."
