Sunday, October 7th , 2029
The future looks extremely bright for Alfredo Montelongo. At the age of 22, many players are still trying to find their way in Northwest League.
Montelongo has not only found his way, he's already established himself as one of the game's brightest stars, today being named the winner of the Northwest League Most Valuable Player Award.
"I didn't expect to hit .339 this year, that's for sure," the center fielder said.
The Hillsboro Hops star also put up a .442 on-base percentage this year, with 149 hits, 33 doubles, 5 triples, 18 home runs, 87 RBIs and 103 runs scored.
He received 6 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Jose Simon Michael of the Hillsboro Hops finished second in voting, while Justin Best of the Tri-City Dust Devils finished third.
