Soto Slugs 4 HR Against Suns
Tuesday, October 13th , 2048
In what will surely go down as one of the greatest losing performances in baseball history, Álex Soto of the New Orleans VooDoo hit 4 home runs yet saw his club defeated by the New Mexico Suns.
Soto ravaged New Mexico pitching for a once-in-a-lifetime effort that somehow still wasn't enough to win the game. The Suns were victorious, 9-6.
"How do you get 4 home runs in one game and lose it?" he said after the game. "Honestly, I'm in a daze."
In the game, he went 5-for-5 with 4 runs scored and 5 RBIs.
"What he did was unbelievable," said New Mexico manager Jesse Taylor. "My guys gave it their best, but he hit some fine pitches. He was like -- he was in an automatic home run mode today. He just had that great swing. It didn't matter what we threw him. It was gone."
Álex Soto hit a two-run home run off Zack MacMicking in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Zack MacMicking in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Kaong Chen in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Kakanda Ramila in the 9th.
This year Soto is batting .279 with 58 home runs.
