Cedeño hit for a .359 average while collecting 187 hits, 27 doubles, 7 triples, 3 home runs, 46 RBIs and scoring 79 times.

He received 6 first place votes out of a possible 8. Jasper Terry of the Arkansas Travelers finished second in voting, while Ezra Brown of the Northwest Arkansas Naturals finished third.

José Gil is the latest Texas League Outstanding Pitcher Award winner. The Jackson starter really shone on the hill time and again and finished 2051 with a sparkling 14-8 record.

In 28 starts, he fanned 160, walked 37 in 189 innings and posted a 2.33 ERA. Gil held opposing hitters to a .273 batting average.

He received 8 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Matt Perkins of the Biloxi Mariners finished second in voting, while Salvador García of the Tulsa Drillers finished third.
