Colts Stick Starlings with 6-1 Loss
|
Fans were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Chicago Colts take on the Keystone Starlings.
Chicago Colts starter Jamie Moyer kept the Keystone Starlings hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 6-1 win. Moyer, now 2-1, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 4, walking 0, and allowing 1 run.
Alan Trammell had an important at-bat with one out in the bottom of the fifth, when he hit a solo home run. His 3rd home run of the season put Chicago on top, 2-1.
"I've been criticized for being a slacker, but the one thing I do care about is winning," Trammell told the Chicago Gazette.
The Starlings, now 5-9, continue their sluggish start.
