Superbas Topple Starlings, 5-3, as Foley Shines
|
No one was more impactful than Tom Foley in the 5-3 Brooklyn win over Keystone. Foley, who is tied for 7th in the UL in doubles with 37, went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. David Cone got credit for the win, improving to 15-8. He allowed 3 runs on 4 hits in 8.1 innings. John Wetteland closed the game out for Brooklyn, earning his 13th save.
Foley had a key at-bat for Brooklyn early in the game. With a runner on 2nd, he hit a run-scoring double. It was his 37th double of the season and gave Brooklyn an early 1-0 lead.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Foley said.
With the win, the Superbas have a record of 89-65.
