Gray Sox Swap Carter to Maroons for May Sunday, July 1st , 1990 After a week of negotiations, the Gray Sox and Maroons have come to terms on a deal that will send 35-year old C Gary Carter to St. Louis for 34-year old minor league LHP Willie Hernandez, 38-year old C Milt May, and a 2nd round draft pick. Thus far this year Carter is batting .216 with 14 home runs, 29 RBIs and 30 runs scored. This season May has hit at a .204 clip with 7 RBIs, 1 home runs and 3 runs scored. |
